The All-on-4 treatment dental implant system is one of the greatest advances in dental treatment, ‘instant teeth in a day’ up until 5years ago most patients were not aware that this system existed but now it is often asked for directly by our patiets İt is useful for those with no teeth at all in the upper or lower jaw whilst at the same time avoids further procedures such as bone graft as the back implants are tilted upto 45 degrees utilizing all available bone. Typically, there are two types of patient that make suitable candidates for All-on-4.
- Those patients missing all of their teeth in a dental arch(the upper or lower full set of teeth
- Patients who have some of their own teeth combined with loss of function and, or pain which means that they need extracting.
The procedure allows for the placement of upto 12 fixed teeth on just 4 implants which act as a support for a permenently fixed (non removable) ceramic bridge or overdenture of 10, 12 to 14 teeth. The first stage of All-on-4 involves the four dental implants being placed into the upper or lower jawbone using local anaesthetic. Two implants are placed vertically where a person’s incisors are, and two implants are placed, at a 45-degree angle, where the back teeth usually lie. The 45-degree angle allows the implants to make optimal use of available bone and avoid During the first visit patients are fitted with a temporary denture straight away. They then return approximately six months later to replace this with a permanent option. There are two options fort his, either a fixed option which cannot be removed or a removable option which can be removed for easy cleaning. The main advantage of the All on 4 system is that a patient with no teeth comes & in the same day have a full set of teeth that can be used immediately.
